Today we visited Waterloo and Kissi Town medical centres. We met some new mums and babies who were less than an hour old.
The staff told us about some exciting developments in Sierra Leone. Medical treatment is free for children under 5 and breastfeeding mothers. We were delighted to see the school in the back of Waterloo medical centre. Over 40 local women were training so that they can help to deliver babies out in local villages.
We spent the afternoon with Mike Jolliffe and Paul Rolston at the Craig Bellamy Accadamy. The children from our partner schools in Waterloo played in a tournament. Basa Town A school were the ecstatic winners who took the trophy back to school.
Later on, we cheered our Liverpool colleagues as they beat the teachers from Sierra Leone 6-3 in a friendly match.
